# Why can't I change the price of a service that has variants?

Because when the service has priced variants, the main price is calculated from the cheapest variant and the field is locked. Below it you’ll see: “Calculated from the cheapest variant. Edit the variant prices to change it.”

## How to change the price

1. In **My Business → Resources & Services**, edit the service.

2. Change the price of the variants you want.

3. Save: the main price updates on its own to the cheapest variant’s price.

That’s the price your channels show for the service, and when booking the customer picks the option they want.

## If you’d rather have a single price

Turn off “This service has price variants” and the price field becomes editable again.

With the “On request” price type, variants only keep their name and duration, with no amount.
