# Why does the WhatsApp connection fail when I try it from my phone?

Updated October 26, 2026 1 min read

Because connecting your WhatsApp Business app means jumping from Meta’s window to the app and back, and on a mobile browser that switch often cuts the process off. The panel itself warns you about it: the most reliable way is to start from a computer and use your phone only to confirm in the app.

## How to do it

1. From the computer, go to Chatbot → Channels → WhatsApp, press “Connect Account” and choose “Connect existing WhatsApp Business App”.

2. In Meta’s window, type your app’s number where it asks for a new phone number, even though it says “new”. Meta no longer offers a separate option to connect the app: it recognises on its own that the number is on WhatsApp Business.

3. When Meta asks, open the WhatsApp Business app on your phone, accept the message you receive and paste the code shown on the computer screen.

The dialog itself has “See the guide with screenshots”.

## If you already tried

- Check in Chatbot → Channels → WhatsApp whether your number appears under “Connected Accounts”. If you see “No accounts connected”, the connection didn’t finish.

- If it was cut off halfway, the panel uses the number you typed to recognise your account: check “Connected Accounts” before trying again.

- Ad blockers and privacy extensions can block Meta’s window. If the panel tells you the popup was blocked, allow popups for the panel and try again.

- If you see “Too many connection attempts”, wait a few minutes before trying again.

If it still doesn’t work, write to us with a screenshot of the exact step where it gets stuck.
