How long does WhatsApp Business approval take with Meta?

After connecting WhatsApp in CitaFlow, part of the process depends on Meta. In particular, approval of the display name or the WhatsApp Business account status may take from a few hours to about 1 day, although some cases can take longer.

This means that even if you already finished the connection flow in CitaFlow, you may still see the status as pending while Meta reviews the account.

What usually happens:

• The initial connection is completed in CitaFlow.
• Meta reviews the account or display name.
• During that time, the status may show as “in review,” “pending,” or something similar.
• Once Meta approves it, the account is ready for normal use.

Where to check status:

• The most important place to check is directly in these Meta URLs, where you can see more detail about how verification is progressing:
  • https://business.facebook.com/latest/whatsapp_manager/phone_numbers/
  • https://business.facebook.com/latest/settings/whatsapp_account/
• In your Meta Business panel under WhatsApp Business settings.
• In some cases, CitaFlow may also show the overall connection progress, but final approval still depends on Meta.

If approval is taking longer than expected:

• Check that no steps are missing in Meta Business.
• Confirm that the connected number is the correct one.
• Look for any warnings, verification requests, or restrictions in your Meta account.
• Wait at least 24 hours before escalating unless you see a clear error.

Keep in mind that CitaFlow cannot manually speed up Meta’s review. If everything is configured correctly and the status remains pending, the next step is usually to wait for Meta’s decision.
